A Centre Informed by Research
SPearHEd, The Centre for Student-Parent Experience, Advocacy and Research in Higher Education, is a collaborative research and advocacy centre focused on improving the experiences of students with parental responsibility.
The Centre brings together research, institutional practice and student-parent voices to raise awareness of the barriers student-parents face, including childcare, finance, belonging, progression and access to support. SPearHEd aims to generate evidence, share good practice, influence policy and support higher education institutions to develop more inclusive and sustainable approaches for student parents.
